I've been wanting to do a post like this for some time now.

I love listening to music and I like to think I have an open taste in music; I listen to some of EVERYTHING.

These last few months we've seen so much new music it's hard to keep up sometimes.

So I wanted to share a few of my favorites from the last 3 months and some that has been on repeat since their release (this is in no specific order):

1. Dirty Computer-Janelle Monae: I've loved Janelle Monae since at high school (I had a physics teacher who played her song Tightrope for us and I absolutely loved her style). This album also comes with an "Emotion picture" that is about 45 minutes long (I've watched 3 times). I won't give anything away for those who haven't listened to the album yet, but I will say that you CAN NOT passively listen to this album. I currently am hoping I can get a record payer JUST so I can buy her sun yellow vinyl. Dirty Computer has been my summer anthem album this year.

2. KOD-J. Cole: sooooo this album is a must for everyone's playlist. Also another album that you have to give your undivided attention to. J. Cole only makes music for the conscious folk IMO. I think when this album was first released, I played it daily.

3. The Kids are Alright-Chloe x Halle: these two are basically Beyonce's proteges. I've never listened to them before this album but I know they have a connection to Bey and I watch them in the Black-ish spin off Grown-ish (they actually sing the theme song). Chloe and Halle are definitely on the younger side, but you can't deny they have talent. I actually play music from this album every time I get in the car.

4. Everything is Love-Beyonce and Jay Z: ok, I know that not many people liked this one from Bey and Jay, and it definitely had to grow on me. But I actually like this album. You have to more so listen to the content, and trust me it is some real stuff. Not to mention I'm going to OTRII next month, so this album came at a good time.

I have some honorable mentions too:

K.T.S.E.-Teyana Taylor, Invasion of Privacy-Cardi B, Blank Panther soundtrack-Kendrick Lamar, Lost & Found-Jorja Smith, and just recently Level Up-Ciara

I'd love to hear your music suggestions! Even though I enjoy listening to these albums on repeat, sometimes I want something new. Drop your favs in the comment section!
